DISCOVER HOW PRAYER CONNECTS YOU WITH GOD IN A PROFOUND WAY.

Read Matthew 6:5-13

Prayer is a foundation concept of the christian faith. God wants you to speak with Him and He wants to speak with you. As you read this text consider the following questions.

Take a moment to respond to the following questions.

Practice Prayer

Prayer has no strict formula, but a format can help. Healthy relationships involve sharing your thoughts and listening. Jesus taught a prayer model encompassing key areas to discuss with God:

Honor God
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Acknowledge God as our loving Father, the creator, and honor Him. This sets our hearts to recognize His presence.

Seek God's Will
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Align your heart with God’s will, prioritizing His agenda over your own.

Request Your Needs
“Give us this day our daily bread.”
Pray for both spiritual and physical provisions, acknowledging your reliance on God for sustenance in every sense.

Confess Sin & Ask For Forgiveness
“..and forgive us our debts.”

Regularly ask God to reveal our sins and confess them. Prayer deepens our relationship with Jesus, requiring humility and openness.

Ask For Help Forgiving Others
“..as we also have forgiven our debtors.”
Forgiveness extends beyond major conflicts to disappointments and letdowns.

Pray For Safety, Protection & Deliverance
“And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”
While God permits trials, He does not tempt us (James 1:13-14). Jesus teaches us to pray against temptation and protect ourselves.
